Transfer case question.

Hello,
I searched on for my answer, but couldn't find it.
I have a 98 4.0 4x4 and was wondering if the transfer case would fit in an 98 awd 5.0 Mountaineer? Seems like a long shot, but it would help out a buddy of mine if it matches.

No the 4405 won't. Fit behind the 5.0 you need to swap a 4406 from an f150 I belive. I know there are a number of threads detailing the swap and parts needed.

No. The 4406 is a mod to get rid of the AWD and go to a 4wd setup. The stock replacement would be a 4404 AWD t-case.
