i have a 2nd gen. x (01)... recently ive noticed when im in 4low 1st gear it doesnt hold back or seem as low geared as it should... ive been told it may possibly be my transfer case shift motor not telling it to go into 4 low... which would make sense cause it seems like its in 4high... anyways... i was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem like this and what actions did you have to take?

Are you going through the proper steps... trans. in neutral, foot on brake??

If you are following the proper engagement instructions above and the you hear the click and feel the clunk and the 4Low light is lit, try with the OD off and shifter in 1 and see if you notice a difference.

yeah ive tryed the proper way... foot on brake in neutral switch into 4 low.. and ive also tryed with the OD off... i think im going to take my shift motor off tonight or in the morning and clean it up... its real muddy under their right now... see if that does anything or not
