'93 ford ranger xlt, 2.3L engine, 2WD, needs transmission! Will a tranny from a '95 model hook straight up, and if not, what changes will need to be made? I need to be prepared for any suprises!!!

Re: Thanks!

Welcome to this forum! You have an A4LD automatic. The 95 has a 4R44E which is electronic. The wiring harness & computer are different.

No, its a manual, M50D-R1 5-speed transmission in the '93...the '95 is manual too, will wiring still be different?

There isn't too much wiring involved in comparison to an automatic transmission. They should be the same if they use the same transmission. Check the links in # 47 in my list of useful threads for more information.

I agree ...

Ok, thanks for the help. I'll let you know how this all comes out...starting tomorrow!
