I have about a three year old rebuilt auto tranny in my Sport, just had the fluid and filter changed about two weeks ago, but I am still getting some cold start hesitation. Is this normal? Its only when the truck's been sitting long enough to get completly cold, and wont do it once its warmed up, and only every once in awhile. Whenever its being mildly accelerated from first to second, motor will start climbing up toward 2,000 rpm before shifting, but shifts great through all other gears. Maybe I am being picky, it is a 15 year old car.

2000RPM? I have a 92 XLT with an almost new transmission, just to make it move i have to take it up to near 4000 before it shifts.

It is a typical problem with the first gen automatic trans. Do a search for the a4ld sticking governor and you will find a ton of info for this problem.
