I was driving my 2001 exp. sport the other day and had a proglem while passing. The trans seemed to shift out of gear under hard acceleration and now the only way I can drive it is to shift it manually. I can shift from 1st to 2nd and then into drive if the o/d is off. After I get up to 60 mph I can engage o/d again.
The sport has the 4L V6 and a 5 speed automatic. It has 176,000 miles on it but runs pretty good other than this problem. Is it worth fixing?
