Hey guys, first off I'm not sure which Trans I have. 1996 Explore XLT 4X4, 4.0, 4 speed automatic

Problem started as weak reverse when engine at operating temp. and then slipping out of drive when cold. I had trans serviced and they replaced the seals on the reverse/3rd piston and said everything else looked good and it had very little material in the pan but I am still having the same problem.
Is anyone aware of a fix for this short of a complete overhaul? Is there a such thing as a "repair kit" for the reverse/third piston? Maybe a sleeve and piston?
