trasmission problems on 2002 explorer

I have 2002 explorer with 87,000 miles. I complained to the dealer 3 times about the tranny when it was under warrantee. Now the warrantee is over and it takes about 2 minutes to engage into gear when it is cold. Anyone know of any "issues" or recalls on this ... Suggestions appreciated

Is this the 4.0 V6 or 4.6 V8 engine??? 2WD, AWD, 4x4???
