So I've got a problem on my hands.
I installed my Subs in my explorer.
The setup is 2 12" Audiobahn AW121T subs (600rms each), powered by a Boss GT2500 Mono Amp (1500rms) ran at aprox. 80%.
After the install, they sounded great. They hit all their notes nice and clean, no complaints.
One day i'm Driving my X down the road, and the amp decides it's going into protect, which was wierd, and never turned back on. I park, but when i turn the truck back on, the amp comes on, but no bass. And have had none since. It was about -10 degrees out when this happened. I've rewired my whole system, still nothing. the only cable i haven't switched out is my RCA cable. i have a 1/0 gauge wiring system, ran off the stock battery. (2nd battery is in my trunk, waiting to be wired). The second wierd thing is, when my amp's power cable is hooked up to my battery over night, it drains the battery and kills it, making me have to jump my X. this started after that whoel situation as well.
please help me out here. i'm a month into this problem and it's making me want to tear this system out and burn it!

The battery drain has to do with it not shutting down with the ignition, is it wired off the head unit? An aftermarket head unit will have a blue ignition wire that needs to be run to your amp to let it turn on and off with the ignition. As far as the amp powering up but not producing anything, it is possible the rca cables could be bad or the rca jacks on the rear of the head unit can go, it has happened before.

Check your amps fuses and wiring to the subs, that means actually pull them out of the box, you may have a short.
If that doesn't work then unplug the RCA's from the h/u, crank up the amp and touch the RCA contacts with your finger you should hear a buzz or pop sound.
If that works then its a head unit issue. if it doesn't work then at least that's one less thing to worry about....
