'02 explorer EB SOHC auto 3000 miles on it... when i first got it I was having problems with warm starts. After research on this board, I determined that it was a bad IAC and the shop agreed and replaced it. Now I went for a month w/o it happening once, where before it was happening frequently. Last night the SOB decided to give me trouble. It cranked for about 4-5 seconds and then started and ran fine... waht gives? do i need another IAC valve or is there another problem>?

Did it idle ok after starting? If the idle was too low, that would indicate a problem with the IAC again. Otherwise, it could possibly be another sensor (coolent temp, intake air temp) which is tricking the computer.

If this was a one time occurance, I wouldn't worry too much. If it keeps happening, have the dealer look at it again. They can put a scanner on it and look at the sensor readouts. That's what a warrenty is for;)
