For the past few days my truck seems to be running VERY hot, the temp guage is all the way to the right, all fluids are full, and clean.

Also it is idling high, and when slowing down from above 25mph, as it hits around 16mph, it jumps up an rpm and its like someone is tapping the gas at the last seccond.

i tried putting it in Neutral while in traffic just to see if the idle would go down and IT WENT UP, so when i put it back in drive it had a very hard shift.

I dunno wtf is going on here, can someone please help me out? I don't want to blow my radiator on the way to work in the morning.

much appreciated

I did some more searching, and replacing the thermostat seems like a must at this point, but would that have an effect on surging and high idle?

Yes. The computer will automatically bump idle to try an cool engine when it senses an overheating situation. It will also make the tranny shift at higher RPM's.

Have you tried to clean the mass air flow sensor, and the iac?
