Hey guys..
My 95 4.0 has been having a problem lately... It is constantly shaking and shuddering, at any rpm.. while at idle, or at any speed on the road. Acceleration and power feel like I'm behind the wheel of a 3 ton golf cart. It also has a constant sputtering noise coming from the exhaust at all times.

The truck has a consistant idle just between 700 and 900 rpms.. Any suggestions before I bring it in to a dealer and drop a load of cash?

Thanks in advance...
-Marc

Without seeing it my "guess" would be the intake manifold seals.

Thanks for the input... Any other suggestions?

I am going to do new wires, cap and rotor in the next couple days... I will update if anything changes... thanks again

Had the same problem...mine was actually the spark plugs, wires warped and actually become seperated which casued the mis-fire (shaking) and loss of power.

Might be the same thing but cant say for 100% I replaced the plugs and wires and its running great now

Do the plugs an wires. Best way to do them is through the wheel wells. Also, look for vacuum leaks. You might also want to clean or replace the IAC.

Thanks for all the help... indeed the culprit was the plug wires...

Truck runs great now!!
