Ok here is the run down. I have a 2000 explorer that i got a year ago and the ac wasnt working. Well I took it to get charged and the mechanic I was refered to said the ac unit was fine but he had to make a toggle switch to cut on the compressor cause the computer was telling it that the engine was at wide open throttle. So a month later the clutch went out and cause the car not to crank. Well went to Pep boys and bought another compressor and accumulator and had the system put in. Blew cold for about 4 months and now were back to blowing hot air. So a good friend of mine now that works at firestone put it on his machine to check and recharge system. No leaks abd it still blows hot..Is there anything i need to check before i start taking things apart>>>>PLEASE HELP!!!!

what if the compressor is coming on and the accumulator is not frosting up anymore....any guesses

I took my system down today. I checked the inlet side of the accumulator hose coming from the compressor and it was metal shavings in it. So i checked to whole system. The box as what i called it coming from the cummulator to the truck had no debri. Pulled te orfice tube and it was clean on the longer side of it an dirty on the short side which goes to the condensor. So i blew it down with some solvent. kinda tricky when you dont have the system complety down so it will flow all the way back to the condensor. After that use 40psi of air until mosture and debri was out on both sides. closed tubes so no debri will get into it so we can repeat same steps tomorrow before putting system back together. Ill keep you posted

ac works fine now.....
