Trying to figure out why such a hard idle at idle 02 4.6 4x4

So I replaced the spark plugs and coils. Check engine is off and it is running smooth like butter. I'm not a regular mechanic, but the weird thing is it seems to turn smoother now as well. Didn't touch IAV valve, throttle body, or pvc. BTW for those who may have the same problem that I had with getting spark plugs started, use a small piece of hose and put it over the top of the spark plug, and it works like magic.

Great job. But now we need to solve the issue with why you were getting fluid into those back two spark plug wells or you will be doing this again. Spark plug 8 should be closest to firewall on driver side and 2 is on passenger side. Can you tell if any other plug wells had fluid? Do you see any source of fluid being able to get into your engine compartment? Do you still have the engine cover installed? Since both rear ones had fluid I would suspect it is rain or water from being washed and not any engine fluids, but you need to determine source of that fluid

That was one of my concerns. It did have the engine cover in which I will secure back to the top of the engine. As far as source I'm not entirely sure. Also, the spark plug did not look healthy on the underside where it sparks. I want to clean the engine, but am nervous to. I believe I bought every cleaner in the book, and I'm thinking about using the engine cleaner with the hose to clean the engine, just worried about messing something up after everything I've done so far. My explorer has 184,000 miles, and would love to see it go for another 100k. I never knew I would far in love with such a vehicle, and will do what it takes to keep it healthy as did the previous owner.

Nice job... My leak was in the cowl where the wipers are, a very small rust crack was dripping. i put the hose on it and watched it drip right into the spot where my puddle was..some 100%silicone and havent had an issue since...

the grinding/rubbing on slow turns is gone, the louder whining noise also , front left wheel bearing.
