trying to remove engine

1997 xlt awd 5.0 v8
i got a 1997 5.0 awd xlt
ok so far i got all the plugs off, manifolds, fule lines, intake,engine mounts, engine to tranny bolts. now i got a few q`s. i got a/c on it now do i have to drain it or how much can i bend it around. and do i have to remove the starter. cuz it seams to be hung up on something. the front of the moter lifs and there is space between the tranny and the engine any ideas

Did you make sure to remove the torque converter to flywheel nuts? There are 4 of them. You can access them by removing the access plate below the front of the trans or by removing the starter.

If you did those, look all around and check for trans cooler lines attached to the block or other wiring.

The AC refrigerant should be recovered by a machine if you disconnect any lines. I am not sure if you can get it out by just swinging the lines and compressor out of the way, but it is worth a try.
 






ok no i missed them i will go out now a try to get them off. i will come back then and update thanks
 






One other thing to note if you are not aware, you will need to rotate the engine via the crank bolt at the front of the engine to gain access to these nuts.
 






ok my first engine that i took out. took me 3 days. i guess thats not bad for a first timer .now off to see if i can find that on x that had a diesel in it. it was a second gen that i stummebeled across while surfing the web. thanks for the help guys
