Ok so my one fog light broke today. Snaped off the assembly. I went to autozone and bought a $20 dollar pair of cheapies. I want to run it off the same switch as the old. I figured I may as well because all wiring is there. Here is the problem, can't tell which wire is positive and which is negative (on the truck). Both wires are dead black. I grabbed my tester and turned on the fog lights (w/ headlights on  ) . Neither wire reads any power. Don't know what is wrong. The other Fog light is on.

How did you test the wires? Positive on the wire, and grounded on the frame on both wires?

Definately a possibility of other damage, did you check the fuse?
