I just purchased a 93 explorer sport 4x4 for 400.00. The rear leaf spring schackles are rotting out. The parts will cost me 100.00 wholesale to replace em. My question is, is what are these TT Shackels. What makes em so good and how much are they?

You cant do a TT because you dont have torsion bars. But you can still install the shackles. They will give you around 2" of lift in the rear and they run about $55. Welcome to the site.

If I get 2" in the rear how do I compensate up front

Coil spacers

springs

I know a lot of you guys say that shackles DONT flatten your springs and that it is an optical illusion. Can someone explain this to me. This pic is of a drivers side warrior shackle and passenger side stock shackle. You can tell the difference.

The problem with that picture is that since you have one of each shackle in, you are flexing the suspension. i.e. its like if I was to put one rear tire up on a 2" curb and then wonder why my leaves didn't curve the same.

coil spacers or new lift coils. spacers is the cheapest. either way you will need an alignment afterwards.

So do they flatten the leaves out or is it just cause I have only one on. With both shackles installed the leaves look like the drivers one in the pic.
