Tune Up?????

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer 4WD Eddie Baur Edition With 173,000miles on it and I was just wondering what I should all do to it for a little tune up...thanks.

if its running ok, then plugs, filters (air and oil, fuel), oil change, and if the wires have some age on them, wires too. thats about it for these engines without a distributor.

Don't forget the PCV valve. When doing the plugs/wires, it's easiest to get to them thru the wheel well.

most people are left stranded on the side of the road for 3 reasons... and I do these as part of a regular tuneup.

1. Overheating. Flush your system, replace the tstat

2. Electrical. Get your battery and alt tested (for free at Autozone). Clean battery terminals with a wire brush. Inspect Belt.

3. Blown Tire. Inflate to proper level and test for leaks and wear. Do the same for the spare.
