Testing my tuner I got from James. This is the 93 race tune. I manually shifted into each gear and I am very happy with how it runs now. Just have to get to the dragstrip to see the difference it made. Enjoy:)

what else do you have done just exhaust and tuner. thats pretty dam quick. impressive

3rd cat removed, 2.5 exhaust, flowmaster 70 w/93 tune. Next mod will be electric fan and underdrive pullies later on. Thanks!!!

i didnt think a tune did that much but compared to mine its a big difference. i have intake, exhaust, TB spacer well performance wise. then a electric fan sitting at my house for then i get home.

im gonna hit him up the same tune

My e-fan is sitting in the back of the Ex. I was going to put it on the other day, but the stock fan is a b**** to get off. When I get more time to mess with it, I will get the e-fan on. You also have a Kenne Bell 2.2 waiting to go on as well right? I am going to see how fast I can go normally aspriated before I decide to go forced induction(if ever). I am confident that with the e-fan and UDP's I should be close to 14.9's. Ultimate goal would be 13.9 in the quarter someday.

stock fan is EASY to get off...if you bothered to use the propper tool...(or a screw driver between the nuts...)

Had a big screwdriver between the nuts and a crecent wrench on the main nut hitting it with a hammer. Should be reverse thread right? I will go at it again next week in hopes of success!

all that? ****...i just used a big screw driver and a HUGE set of channel locks...came right off(its only torqed to like 18-20 ft.lbs...do they salt your roads in the winter? me..id go get said tools and then use an F-load of WD-40 before trying again...mine came right off...and i dont remember if it was reverse threaded...dont think it was though.

im looking for a 5.0 stroker motor before i bolt the supercharger up. i found a few short blocks for 2 grand. professional built and everything. then im goin with cams heads and supercharger i wanna break lose all 4 or break something in the process haha

MMR does realy good short blocks...im having them make me a 5.3L...(no...i didnt typo 5.4)...its gunna be awesome! cant wait to see ur rig man.

i was gonna go with the 5.3 but 2 grand for a short block stroker 5.0 you cant beat it. they have the 5.3 but its like 3400. ill cut my loses and take the 5.0

3400? hahaha my short block is going to cost me over 6 grand(granted mine is gauranteed to hold 1000 horse power at the wheels)...where did you find a 5.3 for 3400? i might look into that...

Are you guys going iron blocks? A 5.0 stroker with a 2.2 KB and supporting mods will get those tires spinning for sure! You are going to love listening to that Kenne Bell whine when you push the loud peddle!!! Trickflow has new 4.6 heads coming out but nothing has yet been released. You know how they make a complete topend kit for the 5.0 mustangs? I hope they make one for the 4.6's. Take out all the guess work. If it could make a solid 300HP and TQ at the wheels, I would buy it.

Zerodevil-Try shifting like I did with your 93 tune. Mine seems to rev to 6 grand pretty easy. The reason I figured yours should be better is because you have full exhaust and CAI as well as higher COP's and some other stuff I think. Wish we lived closer to get a friendly run in. So I guess we'll have to compare time slips instead.

haha plus i have no use for anything over 700 but i think 450-500 will be plenty. gotta remember that the rears arent that good in these

i just want the torque mainly. towing and off roading fun

my new block head and cams will be run as is for about 2 years before i goto my next build stage and do a KB supercharger and a bullet proof transmission as well as ford racing differentials...at that point i will also convert from 4x4 to 4x2 for a full street/strip truck...aiming for around 650 strip and 550 street at that point(pulley and tune swap).

Limited, i agree..NO ONE UP HERE DOES ANYTHING TO EXPLORERS!!!(other than white limited i think...and even still we have never met in person)...ill shoot a vid tomorrow...assuming my spot has been plowed and the roads are ok(we got 2 inches of snow last night)...speaking of which, i watched the midnight release of fast and furious(its the best one yet...this should have been fast and the furious 2...good stuff)..and on the way home...i killed a late model Cadillac Escalade with the 6.0...guy was shocked...and gave me the thumbs up at the next light...good times ^.^

my favorite part is limited...if you ever do UDP's....just put a BIG ass C-clamp on the crank pulley and use another pulley to keep it from spining(use some towels to keep it from scuffing)...best advice....and you will need a breaker bar (or pipe extension) that is at least 2.5 feet long...things a real ***** to losen the first time.

id love too throw udp s on my mounty but with my system i cant. you guys know any good heads and cams to look at? im love to get something with a slight lopy throttle.

"with my system i cant" you mean your sound system?..why dont you get one of those 200 amp alternators(link at bottom of page)...they put out 125amps at idle(lose about 20% rotation from a underdrive kit...so is the amp loss drop on the same principal?)..if so you would still be over 90 amps at idle...when coupled with a Optima gel battery...you sould be fine...

unless your going to bore up..id go with Patriot stage 2 heads (with heavy duty plug inserts to prevent spark plug blow out)...patriots spring kit(they are pretty damn strong...and its usualy best to mix and match as little as possible)..my personal choice of cams is going to be a High lift stage 2 cam from crower...rpm range from 1250 to 6000 rpm(i think the engine can idle lower than that??)...and if not a low rpm stall converter should solve any problems...

Limited, last night i took out all of the seats but mine, dropped the spare tire, removed the front drive shaft, and the engine fan(its 28 degress out atm so i was fine) and even the sound insulation thats under the hood...im guessing i took close to 420 lbs out of my truck...and i ran w/o the passenger headlight....what did i get for my spent time? like .45 seconds off my 0-60 ^.^ starts at 1.5(When the camera jumps(broke the back tires loose a bit) and ends at 8.15(according to windows movie maker)..according to the math..that puts me at 6.65 seconds...but im claiming 6.8 just for the sake of modesty ^.^ Here is the link!!

Video of what i think is the same cam
Video of crower stage 3 cam

I took my spare and jack out yesterday before I made the video. I weighted the tire on my scale and it was 58lbs alone! I have always heard that every 100lbs is equal to .1 tenth in the quarter. So you technically could have lost .4 tenths in the 1/4 for what you had done. I strongly suggest doing that again when you run your father-in-law!!!! How long did it take you to get the seats and driveshaft out? I have thought about taking my seat and everything out like you did, but I also want to see how she runs full interior because that's how I normally drive you know? Next week I am going to the drags and will run her like she is, get some baselines with the new tune and then I am going to another one the following week and will take out all the seats, driveshaft, front swaybar(swaybay is heavy too!!!) and see how that helps.

Edit-Zerodevil, very good run by the way;) Just shows I have more work to do!!!

currently i have a 220 amp alternator with 2 optima red tops but my system can easily pull 240 amps on a half decent hit when its all the way up its hitting close to 300 amps so i really cant afford to underdrive my alt. at all. the thing that stinks about 4000 watts rms in my trunk
