The cheap no name brand (made in china) turbos like that are rarely well balanced, and have a tendency to fly apart (from what i keep hearing) at random times.

however, since the kit comes with an innercooler, you're probably pretty safe, as the pieces of the impeller will get stuck in the innercooler and not the engine. i'd probably go for it. i like taking risks and doing stuff for cheap though.

if it's you're daily driver, probably not a good idea.

thanks for that helpful feedback! I was really unsure about buying on from ebay but i dont know. I dont think Ill buy one if it means that $500 will go to waste and yeah its my daily driver. I like to speed down streets and freeways alot and well i feel that my car needs more power, especially that its a v6. Ive seen superchargers but they are over 2g's from what ive seen on google.

Performance isn't cheap. especially when you're talking smaller (v6) and modern fuel injected engines.

i'd recommend a second (non daily driver) car with a v8 in it. something older, and pre-smog since you're in CA. You can get a lot of horsepower of those old v8's without much cash spent. and you'll have you're explorer as a reliable DD to drive while you're tinkering with you're hot rod.

a '60s or early '70s ford or chevy truck would be a good inexpensive starting point.
