Yesterday afternoon for no reason (known) my blinkers stopped working. They fail to come on on all 4 corners and I cannot hear the relay, no dash lights are denoting that they are on. i checked every fuse associated but cannot locate the blinker relay. The hazard relay and lights work fine. Hopefully it's not the MFC. If anyone can direct me to where exactly the blinker relay is i would greatly appreciate it.

Just a note: I did a search and have the link for the MFC replacement. I just wanted to confirm wether or not there is a turn signal switch.

the flasher according to my "unofficial ford refererence" for 96 (all I have), is "in the steering column"... tough to see on the picture. But... since your hazards are working (with proper indication), the flasher is used in both and is in the "start" of the circuit. However, there is a path for hazards and a path for signals, check the LB (I think) for voltage during signals (W/R is for hazards). This same voltage drives your instrument lights.

So it is highly likely that it is the multifuncion switch?

Just a thought. Have you checked the fuses?

I think most people have had trouble with their MFS. However, as I indicated you can check to see if the voltage / signal is being delivered from your flasher to your MFS. If it is then it is likely a MFS problem. If it isn't, then it is likely the flasher.

problem fixed?

RIPDOTCOM did you ever get your problem solved? i have a buddy w/ a 2002 sport trac w/ the exact problems u describled. the wipers and hi/lo beams work fine as well as the hazards. i'm thinking it's a fuse. is replacing the fuse for the blinkers the same as the 'flasher relay' as mentioned above or are these 2 seperate things? thanks in advance.

there are two fuses (at least in 96), one for (hot in run) -> signals part of flasher and one for "hot at all times" for the hazards part of the flasher.

update

it turned out to be the flasher. the fuses were fine. he took it to a garage and had it fixed. i was wanting him to ask them exactly where the flasher was. my guess is, it's the small, silver rectangle thing in the 'power distribution box' under the hood. btw it's an 02 sport trac. just wondering for my own knowlegde. oh, and RIPDOTCOM was ended up being the solution to your problem?

peace

let me add the truck wont start with either flasher disconnected .4ways work fine, whats MFS
