Turning over-Hard Time Starting

My 99 explorer 4.0 SOHC is turning over just fine, but it is having a hard time starting up. It starting sometimes after a few seconds, and others it wont start. I will crank it for about 5-7 secs and release and then try again and it will start after about 2 secs. it seems to start better if its been run a while and is warm. Anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks
