Tuttle Creek run?

Now where is this Turttle Creek run? I have heard of a trail area south of Mapleton, KS that was supposed to be popular(could be farther south?) My gramps has mentioned it to me and said I should take my truck down there to sell it because it kinda fits that scene and hopefully someone will buy it:(

So get crackin Turdle and if the date is doable, then I may meet some of you fellas:)

The one down south is KS Rocks. Tuttle Creek Lake is just north of Manhattan. There are two ORV areas. The south one near the spill way does not let full size vehicles use the area. The one that dose let full size vehicles play is up on the north west part of the lake near the town of Randolph.

That's really close to my parents house. When a date gets decided, I'll see if I am free.

I just went to tuttle last weekend--- Planning on going out on Nov 7th if anyone is interested.

I am definitely interested. Getting my new Carrier leaf packs put on tomorrow and new tires friday. Got to go try them out and see if I can break something, lol. I am always up for heading out there, its only a couple min from me here in Manhappenin'. As long as I'm not working, or buried in homework, lol. Definitely be nice to meet some people from the area, I've only been here a year and don't really know anyone to wheel with.

Well I got the lift done, so let me know when this thing comes together...

I wish.... I only have saturday off though. And a total lack of any kind of gear, tow points, or a cb. I'll just have to live vicariously through you guys til one day the planets align for me.

Looks like there are going to be folks up there the 7th and 8th but most of the folks are saying the 8th. A 4x4 club from down south that folks up north belong to are doing both days. A local club may have a Ricky Bobby event that weekend. I won't be there. $$$'s are short and the tranny fluid in Green looked bad when I changed it. Chad (filp4ford) is in Newon and has has a 94X Sport he calls Elvis. Curtis (Garden Spyder) is in Mahattan and just sold his Cherokee and bought a Rubi. Jason (HeepOJeep) is in Abilene has a Cherokee. Del (Husker) is in Manhattan and has a Big Bronco called POJ. Tony (Centurion) is in Lawrence and has a BII called Mad Dog. All have said they might make it. Chad and Curtis are on call for work that weekend and are maybes. There are at least 3 others, a F-150 and 2 more BII guys that are thinking about it.

Most times the plan is to meet at the parking lot at 9:00 AM or so. I'll post up as soon as I find out more. If you need maps send me an e-mail and I can send you them. happylbjack@yahoo.com

Ya really need tow points. If not at least a short chain with hooks.

I have a hitch for the front, and a receiver shackle. If I ever get around to installing it. Should be easy other than fishing the bolts through the frame. Supposed to be nice next week, maybe then

Curtis lives in Manhattan and was thinking about going up today. I didn't find out about it till late last night. He and the others I listed above try to get up there every month. I talked to him this morning and he said to give you his number. I'll try to PM or e-mail that to you. I don't get up to Tuttle much. Curtis and the folks he wheels with are good people.

I'm a go for the 8th only--- should be at the park around 9:00-9:30-- unloaded and ready to roll by 10:00. Maroon 94 sport, with 6" and 33's--- winch on the front--- Hell of a cute driver :-) ha ha

I never knew about this park looks fun, but cant make it, would like to check it out anothert time.

I am going to try and make it either saturday or sunday, no promises though. Got a couple exams and a paper due next week. Might make a nice study break though, lol.

same here. Wouldnt mind to go up there sometime, although how soon the next get together is will really determine my participation. I would have to drive 6.5 hours just to get there. I would like to get a few more mods done to make the drive worth it.

I suggest you get a LS or a rear locker for your rig. That open rear diff you got was your weak point at Smorr. This is an affordable mod, and has maximum benefits. You will get more bang for your buck with this mod over any other for the cost.

You definitely HAVE to get a CB! You need to be able to communicate with the group. This is a mandatory item, no one should go with out for many reasons.

I agree with that, good comms is of vital importance.

Ok, got a CB and antenna and everything on the way. It won't get here til the 9th or after though. So I think I am gonna bail on going to tuttle this weekend and use the time to get my front hitch on, and do some maintenance on the truck. Oil change, brakes, etc...
