Ok, so first off, I want to fix this on my truck:
DSCN3499.jpg

Picture is pointing to black area between doors, also on the back corners of the truck. They are really faded towards the top of the vehicle, how can I fix this and give them that black shine they once had???

Also, how do you go about cleaning the plastic flares and the plastic trim along bottom of doors? Best cleaning product to use??? Thanks!!!!

for the plastic trims along ur doors and flares i normally just use carwash and clean them when i was the whole car , if theres stubborn dirt on there i get some stronger truck wash ( i dont know wat brand stuff u have over there)

and then normally after its dried ill wipe some trim rejuvinator or simply tyre shine on there to moisten it up and shine it tp to try and stop it fading

hope this helps

Regarding the plastic trim between the windows, you can buy new pieces from Ford (expensive) or just respray them.

I did mine with rattle can semi-flat black paint (on my 2002 and my prior 1997 Explorers). Just sand down with some super fine wet paper, mask off and spray.

my1zamboni beat me to the draw.

For the rear pillars, I left them on the truck since they are riveted in place and masking is no problem. Just open the liftgate & glass to really mask well.

The side pillars are removable. Just pull the molding out of the window channel and you will see the screws. I haven't done the sides yet, but when I do I plan on removing them as that will be the easiest way since the rubber molding wraps around them.

Good luck and keep us posted. :biggthump
