What tyres have Ex owners found to give the best performance/longevity for general road use ?

Spelled with a Y, I'd have to say Vouges. :) I had a pair of BFG ATKO's that were aggressive and wore well. If you don't do any driving in slick conditions or snow I had good luck with BFG touring TA's.

When I got my x it have Goodyear Wranglers 255*70*16 on and they went for some 50,000 miles. Have now put Bridgestone Duellers 265*75*16 and after some 5,000 they seem to be holding up well for a slightly more aggressive tyre.

Go with Howard on that,
I had a full set of Bridgestone Duellers put on last August and seem OK, certainly don't have any complaints on country area driving.

re :

Had goodyears, and bf goodrich. now have bridgestone duelers; and they are fantastic. by far the best ive had ever

Wranglers on mine wearing well, just changed them around the other day front to back, will change them soon for some town + country

I have Michelins on mine, can't see any difference in tread wear since Nov. 2005. :)

michelin ltx m/s if you want long highway wear with not much dirt time but i would say that bfg would be a good sub if you want to have a little dirt time in the mix

Have just put a set of 4 - 265/70*16's BFG AT's ont he beast and have to say they're quite for an AT, but haven't had chance to get them dirty yet!

The larger size seems to have helped with conering as well, although that might just be because the sidewalls etc are stronger on the AT's than the old Wrangler HP's that were on there before.

What did you pay for those BF good. all terain t/as? I am interested in going over to those, the cheapest quote i have got is 560.00 for a set fitted.

They seem to be the most popular and best? 50/50 tire.

What sort of mileage are you getting out of a set?

I've been running Avon Rangers on mine and I get about 40000 miles out of them. Just been through one pair on the back and the fronts are showing pretty worn on the inside so about due.

Performance is excellent and the only complaint is the blue "seal" on the white lettering doesn't come off as easily as it is meant to!

Ian,

I paid £420 all in for the 4, got them from ATS of all places and I think if you go to ATS at the moment then they are having a 25% sale on 4 BFG's.

As for milage I've heard of the BFG AT's going for anything upto 120,000 mls and still being legal     The guy at ATS said on average they're seeing about 50,000 - 80,000mls per set.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Carl
