[U]Engine Rattle - metalic sound[/U]

1997 4 Lt, when the car is running hot or cold there is a metalic noise sems to be coming from the bottom of engine left hand side when you listen to the engine from the top you can hear a rattle but not that load underneath is a different matterits quite load have tried reving the car noise seems to stay around the same no increase or decrease in the noise, i have ordered a new rear tensioner as the car seems to have the orginal one in, having to pay as car now 71/2 years old (anyone have the instruction to fit manual doesn't seem to cover)

I have it also on my 98. I wonder if it has anything to do with a recall a few years ago to replace (i think) something to do with the timing chain gear. I'll look the recall up when I get home since I only vaguely remember. If we figure it out, let's be sure to post what it is. Good Luck!
