U joint replacement?

Has anyone ever had to replace theirs? If so what were your symptoms? I have a feeling I have to replace the rear and will most likely do the front at the same time. Any time I've replaced them before I've always replaced with heavy duty u joints (back when I took trucks off road) in this case, my 02 xlt is for on road use and snow only.

It's a sticky in the transmission section.

Often you hear a squeek-squeek noise which is one to one with rotation of the drive shaft (one squeek to one rotation that is). Some times you can see and feel looseness in the joint.
