Uh oh---White Smoke

FIXED

Quick update....6 1/2 hrs later...and problem solved. :D

Upper intake manifold gasket!!!!

I'll post a deatailed report tomorrow.

Thanks guys
:chug: :chug:

Yeah, that was about the total time for me as well for all of that. Man, my hands were so fat and swollen when I finished. Nice to hear you fixed it. Feels good to solve a problem without dumping $500 in labor for some relatively easy work.

Yippee!!!

I'm glad to hear it wasn't all that bad.

I just changed the upper / lower intake gaskets on the same '93 I was talking about in an earlier post to fix an oil leak.

Not that bad, but it was a workout on the back and legs!

I needed a couple of bottles of muscle relaxant after that one! I think they were Fat Tire or simular. :D

Reason for overgapping plugs is that with the better spark delivery from aftermarket wires it will help the fuel combust more completely. Go to www.jacobselectronics.com and check out their wires, cheaper than Magnecor and every bit as good.

Stay with Ford OEM gaskets. Be sure to get the best RTV you can, you don't want to have to do that job twice. :nono: If you don't mind changing plugs after 20 25K, I would try the Autolite copper. I already put OEM Platinum in mine with the opened gap and have had no complaints. My idle and throttle response really improved. The new water pump also keeps my coolant temp locked at O in Normal. Before replacing it would rise to the A, drop back down past N and so forth. Now its stationary.

Look into Amsoil's Power Foam (intake and Thr body clnr) and Power Improver (fuel inj clnr). I have used both with success. I can get for you if you want; Pwr Foam is about 4/can and PI is same. Let me know.

The only place you should be putting RTV on when doing heads is the head-intake mating surface (top and bottom) and sparingly on the rocker arm covers. Those are the only places that RTV sealant is required.
