My front ORIGINAL u-joints are starting to sqeak a bit. I saw a thread in the General Explorations section concerning replacement parts, and lots of people recommend RockAuto.com

I just checked Rockauto.com for U-Joints. I see ACDelco (what?!?) and Precision parts. ACDelco is the only one that has greasable joints for the front drive shaft. Our stock ones are Spicer, but non-greasable. Is ACDelco a good brand for replacement u-joints? I do off road enough.

If any one has other brands that they'd recommed please let me know, and where to get them.
Thanx,

John

Non-greasable joints are stronger than greasable joints. Greasable joints are weaker because of the holes drilled through the crosses for lubrication. Spicers are very good replacements.

Any one w/ any info on the ones that RockAuto sell? The ACDelco, or Precision brands? Now do I want greasable, or non greasable? Are non greasable ones any less reliable in terms of how long they last? Any one know of any other places that sell good replacements? Thanx,

I think Rick has already answered your question. Unless you're doing some serious wheeling, a stock replacement will last you a long time.

He did, I was just wondering if the brands that Rockauto has, are suitable stock replacements.

ACDelco is usually a GM replacement -- but they'll work fine on yours. There is a discount code for RockAuto in the General Explorations board. Check it out and save 5%!
