Hi Everyone. Im in the Uk and as such no garage wants to touch my 94 ex with a bargepole, not too bad a thing as Im happy to fix anything I can myself, but recently its started to stall every so often when approaching a junction/ letting off the throttle, always starts right back up fine and may behave for days.. not the check engine lamp seems to come on and off on the motorway/ freeway. Ive checked the codes key on angine off and got the following:
124 TP voltage was higher than expected - Fuel control
157 Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded - MAF
176 Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean Left or Front HO2S - Fuel control

I imagine the oxy sensor fault could be bacuase the Maf is faulty? and the tp fault will cause the occasional stalling? thanks for any advice guys :)

Have you cleaned the MAF? Back in the day, every time mine went to Ford they wanted to clean it. Without even looking at it.

Sounds like it's not registering as much air as it knows it's getting.

It's just a bad Throttle Position Sensor:

124 is not telling you the voltage is high at the TPS, it's means the return signal to the PCM is high.

So if the actual throttle is at 50% but the TPS is sending 75% the PCM compares that to the MAF and you get the 157 because the air flow is not in line with 75% throttle.

The end result is a lean mixture which gives you the 176.

You should be cleaning the MAF at each service interval. Use CRC MAF cleaner or similar. Do not use carb cleaner or solvent, and do not touch the element with anything. (it should shine like a new silver coin)

Long winded version of what Number4 said. :)

Thanks so much guys, yes Ive cleaned the maf previously, but not with the proper stuff :/ Ill change out the tps and go from there :D

Remember to disconnect the battery to clear the codes.
