Hi All,
I have a Ford Explorer (2000) engine in my Ford Galaxie.
Tonight the battery light came on, so I tested the battery with a meter and got about 11.9v with the engine both on and off.
Assuming it's the alternator, I was wondering where I could get a replacement, my mechanic said it looked like a very standard looking alternator. I went onto Ebay and did a search for Explorer alternators but the ones I found didn't really look like the one under my bonnet, even those that stated they were the year for mine. I'm not mega techy with cars unfortunately so I don't know if once I take mine out I'll end up seeing it differently.
Anyway, I leave for a roadtrip to Spain in about a week and a half and desperately need to get something organised.
Can anyone advise where I can get hold of the correct part for my car quickly?
I'd be eternally grateful. I suppose I should feel lucky this didn't happen during my trip.
Many thanks everyone.
Ross
