Folks,
Finally go a solution for the Cam chain recall for UK owners.
I have spoken to Ford UK on 0845 841 1111, a Gent called Michael Woodburn
I gave him my VIN and the reference f# or the recall, which here in the UK is 1W750 (Front Cam Chain Guide assembly - Warranty extension program)
He confirmed that this was not in the vehicles Oasis record, but he then checked with European Recall Center on 0800 413 693 and they confirmed to him that my car was indeed covered by the recall.
He then advised me to go to my dealer and have them call the European Recall center to confirm and subsequent order part and have the work done.
Went to my dealer yesterday and they started a work order for this. initially they will call the ERC and then order parts and will get back to me once the parts are in to schedule appointment. May take a while to get parts from the US (is around £1000.- worth of part in accordance with my dealer...)
Hopefully you can have this done by using same route.
