Thanks, as another example, there is a cassette on Ebay(item #7958219427) at the moment. It looks like the one that I inspected at Ford, and it is at $9.99 now. There may be less plastic on the newer ones.

Is it a certainty that the 2002 parts are interchangeable? If so, when I go back to Ford, I will definitely specify the 2002 model.

Still no luck in finding the receipt to get the part number. Is there a picture of it on ebay. If so you can send me the link to aaronsmallwood@cs.com and I look at the picture and see if it looks like the upgraded version.

Aaron, look at my post above. I included the Ebay item#.

I called to reserve the two front cassettes at Ford. They are the only choices, and are just over $60 each. The older parts have been superceded by the 2002+ parts.

That is it.

That is exactly like the one I installed in fact that looks like the exact kit I bought. if you llok at it, you can see how the metal framing comes up around the outside and you can see that it has metal in the center where it bolts to the block. $60 is a bargain, I want to say I paid a lot more. I ended up buying all of the guides on the front so I don't remember the exact cost, but I don't think I paid less than $90 for any of them. I would however get the Ford number from the seller just to insure that it is the correct one.

I will buy mine from Ford, because I know it's the right one, and they have them in stock. I'm just waiting for the tool to hold the cam and crank.

ford bid all these parts out to lowest bidder to construct...does the ebay add tell ya if its american or aftermarket cuz the ford technician just told me its all aftermarket
