I am going to mount two 10 inch neon lights under my dash. I have the passenger side figured out, but I cannot find a place to mount one on the driver's side. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I know this is not the right forum, but can somebody explain to me how to post pics. I have some on my computer's hard drive right now. I just cannot get them on the internet. Everytime I try to upload them to yahoo, my internet connection shuts off. Any ideas on this subject would also be appreciated.

I've got a pair of neons under my dash and all I did on the driver's side was wire-tie it to some wires that were already under there. Just stay away from the steering shaft and the pedals and you'll be fine. Just, slide under there and look for some wires to tie it up to.

About the pictures, in order to post the pictures on the boards, you'll have to first find a place on the internet for them...like Yahoo, or MSN Hompages, or some other place on the web to store them. Then, you can place a link to them in your post be simply copying/pasting the address for the picture into your post. If you want the picture to appear in the post, go here:

to see how it can be done.

Finally, if you become an Elite Explorer, you can post images from your hard drive without having to have them hosted on the internet already. You can go here to read about it:

Thanks for the info. I noticed that the lights come with cigarette lighter plugs. I wanted to be able to use a toggle switch for them so I can turn them on and off whenever I please. I know how to install the switch and everything, but where will I get a power source from. Could I hardwire it into the cigarette lighter or would I have to run some wire to the battery? I want to run both lights off of one switch so does anybody have any ways I could wire it up without using the lighter plug.

I did that too. You can cut off the cigarette lighter plugs and then hardwire the lights to a power source. You can either run a designated wire from the battery to a switch under the dash, or you can tap off of a power source already in the truck, like the cig lighter. Just find the positive wire that goes to the lighter, and splice in a new wire going to your switch. Then connect the positive wire of both of your neons to the switch and ground the both of them close by. Really easy to do.

I did something similiar to this. However, when i installed my indiglo gauges i spliced my 15" and my two 9" green neons with my headlight switch. So when my lights come on, so do my neons. If you take out the dash where your gauges are and look at the headlight dimmer switch thing, there will be a black and white wire. Use that as your power source, and find a ground somewhere close. Spilce them together and use some electrical tape, and you're good to go. that's basically it. If you have any problems, just reply, someone is bound to help.:D

one more thing, you may not need a ground, so don't worry yourself with that. Good luck!

All of my 58+ neons/strobes are hardwired in my car.

If you need some wiring diagrams, check my site out.

For the underdash neons, i used 9" minis (front and back) The 9" minis were just slim enough to fit under my dash, and gave out a great amount of light.

Mabey, one day you will look a little like this :D Mind you, those are police strobes, not my headlights.

Sweet truck bmxboy. Those are only nine inchers underneath the dash. Damn they give off a lot of light. I also like where you mounted rocker switches in the passenger kick panel. Great idea, I might have to "borrow" that one. I will probably go get the lights this weekend, so I will keep you guys posted on how it goes. Thanks for all the help.

That sounds like a good idea to connect the neons to the head light dimer. I want to do something like that but Ive never done anything like that. It sounds easy but I dont know what kind of wire of material I need. Right now I have my neon powered by my cigarette lighter. I would really appreciate some help in doing this mod. Also, why it seems when my neon is on for a while or I shutt off my engine with the neon still on it doesnt come back on. Is it that it gets hott. When I want to turn it on sometimes it takes a while of doesnt come on, I think it is that switch I dont like that switch.

Yea, before i hard wired my neons to my headlights, i was always forgetting to turn them off at the switch. Now they come on and go off with the headlights, which turn on and off by themselves because of my mirror thingys. NOw i just have a switch to turn them off when want to when my headlights are on. Sometimes i don't want them. It is all good now, i popped out my pocket on the front of my center console and there was like acomputer thingy there, and i got a tester and found out which ones turn on and off with the ingnition and then jsut stuffed the wire in one of the holes, it works great.

The reason why, is in the winter, it takes a while for the neons to warm up, and they need alot of juice, persay...so when the car is off, my neons do not light up alot, but when it is running, they are fine

There is a computer inside the center console??? Do I have one in my 93 XLT and if so what is it used for?
