Hi again,
I've been experiencing an occasional "hard start" with my 2001 ST. It happens cold or after a short shutdown (like Gassing up)...The engine cranks fine, but with no hint of starting. It may refuse to start 3 or 4 times over a 2-3 minute re-try, then it will fire up like there's no problem. (At least it hasn't stranded me yet), but I don't want to tempt fate! I realize it could be any of a hundred things, but I wondered if anyone has experienced any similar problem. The car is a 2001 and has 175,000 miles on it. Otherwise runs like a top and I wouldn't trade it for anything.''
Thanks for looking,

Fpcm. fuel pump control module that was my issue it regulates voltage to the fuel pump and mine the voltage was low so I ran a new ground right to chassis off the part and I also replaced the part. With low volts the pump couldn't sufficiently prime the motor in start and at full throttle high RPMs it sputtered

Honestly I think these are only on late 03 and up as we have return less fuel systems
