So I have a question..I've owned my Sport trac for a few months now...and I notice if I have the rear door windows rolled down about 25% when I'm driving at 50+mph it sounds like I have a blackhawk helicopter hovering over me...
Doesn't happen with the front windows down so i was never concerned it was truck imploding ..I have to be doing 50+mph to hear it so I filed it as high speed air suction...I have used it a few times to freak out passengers..it is amusing..
I don't know anyone personally that also has a 2nd gen sport trac to compare so I have to ask....anyone else ever hear this? Is it normal?
Am I alone?

Lol, it's normal. A flaw in the aerodynamics of the truck. I think there is either something in the manual about it or a tab somewhere to open the rear windows a bit when opening the front at highway speeds.

Good to know it's normal...I continue to use it on new people to make them look at the sky for a helicopter over us..
Thanks TBT

I put a shell on mine and the noise went away. I forget if the rear window is open half the time.

Oh yeah. My 06 sounds like the inside of a bass drum with the rear windows down. The first time I experienced it was at night, and I thought a train was about to run us over. My kid thought it was hilarious. Ha Ha.
