Hello all~
I have a 1994 XL with the 4.0L OHV engine, 136k miles. It was deemed that my lower intake was leaking like a civ... so I took it to my auto. class and we have it all torn apart. We pulled the valve covers and entire intake off. I took the valve covers home and wire wheeled and repainted them stock grey... they look near new. We even had to tear off the alternator. Too many connections to list that we pulled... On looking at my rockers and push rods there is absolutely NO SLUDE or gunk or anything... and this just goes to show that changing your oil regularly or a little more often than that will make your engine stay clean and subsequently last long. I do not have a premium account here so if anyone would like to see pictures of the ongoing project, I have a decent set of them, so feel free to email me at monkeydude3@cs.com or drop me an IM on AIM at monkeydude3.... If I can help anyone else out I'd be glad to. have a good one
