So over the summer I was going to ball new components for my front suspension, figured it was time to start putting new parts in. Well, the same week I planned to do it, I got Mono and Strep and spent 2 weeks in the hospital! So that 2 weeks out of work set things back quite a bit.

Today I finally got my tires put on and the mechanic was shocked my tie rod ends were still functional. The wheels had about a half inch of wobble.

I went ahead and ordered outter tie rod ends. Decided on Moog since that's what most people on here have recommended in the past. I just want to know what everyone else thinks I should replace while Im doing my tie rod ends. The mechanic said my inner's looked fine and my hubs were ok, but control arms, ball joints, ect. What do you guys think?

I need help with part numbers to. I've been doing my shopping on Rock Auto and I get kinda confused with the lack of part info...
Thanks guys!

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Would think the mechanic would
have inspected EVERYTHING after finding bad outer tie rods. Did he?

Yeah, he should have been able to give you a good rundown of all the places you need to work on. I would guess ball joints, swaybar endlinks, stuff like that.

Nope haha. It was one of my dad's friends that put my tires on for free, got it lowered on the lift and as he was bolting the front passenger tire on he noticed the play...

Took forever to balance the tires so we were kinda rushing to get done so he could finish a paying customers vehicle.

Do a quick search for either my frontend rebuild thread or OffTrac's, both have all the part #'s you need. I replaced everything except the lower control arms which I regret now because the bushings are shot.

Don't feel bad I currently have both new lower and upper control arms with ball joints, hubs, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, sway bar end links and bushings, all new shocks, front new lift torsion keys, add a leaves, body lift and a set of 255 85 16 (33 10.50 16) BFG KM2 only waiting on new rims and snow to clear to install. What else did I expect have owned the truck for 4 months now.

Oh and that dose not include all the none suspension stuff like the in dash 7" dvd player, the roof rack, cold air box and all the new custom lights and stuff. This cheep truck is turning into another money drainer like my last one. Well it was a show winner so hopefully this one does as good just more of a driver.

I was trolling around for off tracs last night but got to sleepy. The hunt begins again :)

Btw thanks guys.

PM sent. For good measure and future searches:

Raybestos Advanced Technology LH Upper Control Arm 5021021
Raybestos Advanced Technology RH Adjustable Upper Control Arm 5001090

Good advice from OffTrac. You're probably aware of avoiding "Service
Grade" or "OE Equivalent" suspension parts. Build quality is much better
with the premium grade components, and not much more expensive.

Yep, I installed all ProGrade series Raybestos parts on mine, they didn't come out with the series Hugh has until recently.

Just before I click the buy button... will someone let me know if these parts will work?

RAYBESTOS Part # 5021021 - Front Left Upper Control Arm
RAYBESTOS Part # 5021022 - Front right Upper Control Arm
RAYBESTOS Part # 5071143 - Front Right Lower Control Arm
RAYBESTOS Part # 5071144 - Front Left Lower Control Arm
MOOG Part # EV81003 - Inner Tie Rod Ends

Everything on this list looks good to me, I get kinda overwhelmed in the Rock Auto catalog though... mostly because I've never done this before :(

I replaced mine only because I was already in there and might as well on a older truck. But I see your point if you do you own work.

Labor is going to be maybe $50 haha. If not a lunch for the guy helping me. I'd rather get all the stuff at once and only pay for the one alignment and go another 10-11 years on the parts than have to do it all again in a couple years.
