ya know, a lot of guys are bashing the sohc engines on this thread, but the only problems ive had on my 98 were the recalls (i.e.: cam tensioners, o-rings, throttle body.) so whats the deal? i know ive read that some guys have major internal problems with the sohcs, but from reading other threads, it appears that those people had the cam shaft tensioner issue and didnt get it taken care of in time, which WILL give you a headache and a half (im not saying its their fault or anything, thats why ford has an extended warranty for it.)

If I could do it all over again id get the AWD version with the 302 V8 and swap the awd t-case for a atlas II for hi & low range 4WD.

ill just put this thread to sleep, im not gonna think about a new X or a S/C until after college, ill do a few simple mods, but I'm gonna keep my truck fer now.

I think the 5.0 v8 should be standard on the Sport models or the 4.6 v8

of course with the 2 speed TC & 4.10 gears....
