ok well the headline pretty much explains it all. ordered the s/c a while ago and it should finally ship today. thank god. well i have been researching this thing for quite some time just seeing here and there what i need to do to be able to safely and effectively run a setup with 9 lbs of boost and a 75 or mayyyyyybe 100 hp shot of nitrous. My plans are to of course get the s/c which is already on its way. get a custom burned flipchip with settings for s/c retardation boost, and retarded for boost and N20 from dan @ speedfreak. 80mm MAS. stage 4 baumann shift kit. 36 lb/hr injectors, and then of course a little later the nitrous kit when other money allows. now what i want to know is would it just be reccomended or durn near NEEDED being that i am going to be running bigger injectors to run a higher flow fuel pump? or would the in line fuel pump be enough? would you think the lightning fuel pump be good for this type of application? any prices on this or any others recommended? this question only really applies to the fuel and electronics systems. i plan on doing alot more with the engine later on but not right now with my funds i have. thanks for any advice or opinions.
Robert

i have a lightning pump and it works fine. get any mustang style pump, they all interchange. also get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. understand, you will HAVE to get a fuel pump with boost and nitrous. there will be no "ill run the stocker for a while". :D

Know of a good place to get one and for cheap?
And what about the 200 lph inline fuel pump that comes with the kit? though i know it is not as good as in tank has anyone heard of any problems with them or just reasons for not liking them?

if you are going to put a lot of power in your explorer you need at least one 255 but i recomened a 190 intank and a t-rex inline or comparible inline pump or you can go the extreme route and go twin 255's intank that is my faviorite setup.

The S/C has arrived!!!!!!!

Well as you can probably tell i am really excited about finally getting my new XB-1A supercharger. I have not installed it yet because i need to get a few more things to make it run right like the MAS, Flipchip and whatnot. Here are a few pics of it. from other pictures of the BD-11 belt driven s/c's it looks pretty much just like them but it is gear driven all the way. Here are a few pictures of it.

I also baseline ran my X at the Gulfport Dragway here. And it did exactly wha i thought it would do. Completely stock except for the 20x9 wheels (didnt have time to swap to the others) and the 2.5" Dual exhaust it ran a 16.54@82.31mph in the 1/4 mile. Which is what i expected being that i have heavier rims and tires on it. But since they are testing the new accutime system they didnt have 60' 330' 1/8 mile and 1000'. just the 1/4 ET's and mph's. I plan on running at the track right after i get my s/c in to see what it and other mods gave me. Only bad thing about this track is they dont have the scales to weigh the vehicles. oh well i think i will weight it myself anyways. I am going to ask someone to host the video of it and post the link in another thread in the Need for Speed forum section.

Rocket, I'll host whatever videos you want. I have an extremely fast, reliable server, and no cost to you. Bandwidth usage is not an issue.

Umm, not to burst your bubble, but I just clicked on your Home Page link and the page is down. It says "500 Internal Server Error."

Not my host

I have the exact fuel set-up blk mk8 said....

a 190 in tank and a t-rex inline......

I also have an aeromotive adjustable fuel regulator and aeromotive fuel lines with 42lb injectors..... as far as i know you are going to have a hard time finding 36's.... most have been discountinued i think.

Also... is the XB-1a for the X?? did it come with the piping from the mass air meter to the inlet of the blower??? mine is really restricted and with a 9lb pulley was only pulling a true 6-7 lbs of boost. I am in the process of building myself a custom 4" "powerpipe" to allow for better flow. I was thinking of moving up to an XB-1A and losing my belt driven blower but for now its holding up great. I have the 11lb pulley on it now and have not had any problems what so ever.....

good luck-

Yeah the XB-1A is for the X. it is the whole kit that i got. the only change from the bd-11 setup and the XB-1A setup is the oil feed and oil return lines. and those can be manufactured if you know what you are doing. if you already have the bd-11 which you do then it would be a verrrry easy switch. and it does come with the plumbing to go from the MAS to the inlet of the S/C.

If i cannot find 36's then i will go with 42's i suppose

Hey Crashwave just tell me how to get the vids to you. Or up to your site and i can do that then.

if you already have a BD-11 installed, then you can just order the XB-1A "head unit" Dead Link Removed

Exactly James but remember to make em knock off a few hundred before ordering there PUR PONY!!! I got them to take off over $450 worth of price and free shipping too. They are really cool people to deal with. I talked to both Tony and i want to say John from S/Conline.com and they seemed pretty cool and tried to help me as much as possible in getting my order filled and shipped to me quickly. I also talked to Sam from Powerdyne. He seemed cool too. They asked me to write an article being that i am the first person that they know of to install the XB-1A head unit onto an explorer so you can look for it on their webpage here in the next month or so, depending on how long it takes for them to edit and post it.

Yes- I have delt with sam from powerdyne several times. See... the thing is, when I ordered my kit it was only $2100 ( about 3 years ago ) and now the new head unit alone is that.... not really worth it to me to upgrade at this time. I would rather put my money into a custom tranny build, heads, and a custom cam....... or better yet finish my mustangs!!
Also i keep having this want to sell both my X's and buy a new 6.0L 4 door PS F-250.... i dont know- we will see in time.
I was just going to through a kevlar belt in my blower and new bearings.... and turn myself a smaller pulley 12-13lbs on the lathe and over spin mine.... why not.... if it breaks it breaks and then ill spend the cash on a XB-1A...... its just a pain trying to build 4 vehicles at once.... bleeds me dry way to fast- LOL
