I was thinking of getting aftermarket headers for my XLT. I'm thinking its got a Ford 302 ,a la mustang, there have got to be headers out there that fit . I've seen 4.0, but not 5.0. available. Does anyone know if they will fit or even exist? I bet it would be a good performance booster. Any thoughts?

Yeppers the header do exists. Ford Motorsports has them. Explorer Express has them for $356...stainless steel and $438 if you want that hi temp coating to reduce underhood temps. According to my catalog these are for the 97-00 V8s. The '96 model is slighty cheaper though. I would love to install header in the future...definately less restictive than the stocks.

Any way of contacting ford motorsports - phone/web site. A local dealer said they don't deal with them or the svt team anymore. Thanks.

From what I was told, the aftermarket headers for the V8 Explorers will hurt the low-end torque.

james duff sells them for about 350

Thanks, Mcoil. I just checked out their web site and the basic aftermarket headers are only $239. Throw on some good Wrap and bolt them up. They're as good as sold. Thanks again !!
