v8 swap

i have a 97 explorer 4wd v6 and want to put in a 302 and aod. any help on if this is a straight forward swap or not. im not going to use 4wd. i also want to lower it and was wondering if anyone has done that. not sure if getting a torsion key and lowering it will put stress on the front cv shafts. i was going to remove them but dont know if that will cause any problems. like i said any help would be great. thank you

i have done both swap and lowered. you can always find 2wd spindles so you wont have to worry about any stress on the cv's. you can go around 1 1/2 to 2 inches and be ok, but you will also want to put camber adjusters on your upper ball joints.
