if i wanted to put a larger throttle body on a v8 explorer, what size should i get? at truck performance- it says that the 66mm bbk is for the 4.0, what do i get for the 5.0?? thanks
I'm not sure what size is stock but i don't think there is a throttle body made specifically for V8 Explorers. I think the stock throttle body is plenty big enough for any mildly modified engine. I don't think u would need any bigger unless u supercharged or did internal mods.
I didn't notice much with the MAS only but when i put on the kkn and flowmaster it seemed to open up a little more than it normally would have. I would suggest the KKN and Exhaust first. I only did the MAS 1st bc I got it for cheap. I would recommend holding off on the MAS till u get a few more things done.
hey, explorerv8--does that apply to the 4.0 as well? does anyone know what the stock size for my 95 4.0 is? i'm thinking i can "borrow" the one off my wife's 97 4.0 if it is bigger and might provide a bit more power! what do y'all think?
drmoore,
The stock n the 4.0 isn;t a 66MM. I bought myself a 66MM BBK one and it was noticable bigger and the power difference was felt too. I would highly recommend
