Well I was out having fun tonight... (spraying) and well my truck is now having trouble on the 2-3 shift. It just sits there and revs up then finally clunks into gear. All other gears shift and operate properly just that problem between gears 2-3. Is this just a simble electronic sensor or am I looking at a rebuild?

Well I just went out and played with it. It doesn't slip at all while in gear just during the shift it feels like it gets put in N (for at least 10 sec) and then back in drive.

I just took it on the interstate and at WOT and went all the way up to rev limiter in 2nd gear with no problem but just not shifting

EDIT: I also reset the comp and I havent seen a CEL or Blinking O/D light yet

i had a similar prolbem with mine after they rebuilt it under warranty it was still messed up. turned out to be the valve body. if it does have to be rebuilt i would have them put in a shift kit at the same time

well im really just looking at buying a new tranny or one with under 50k now. I would definitally put a shift kit in. ****ty thing is I leave for school in 6 days. That is a little more than 2 hours away from my hosue and I know NOONE. So I really need to get this fixed.

ok update... Got in it just now and it shifts just fine. i'm starting to think a temp sensor.

Sounds dumb.... but did you check the fluid?

fluid is good
