Valve Cover Bolts

I'm trying to remove the driver's side valve cover and the last bolt, that is closest to the fire wall is rusted so bad that my socket just spins on it. I'm gonna try and use a smaller size socket and hammer it on there, but i was wondering if any one has any different ideas in case the hammering doesnt do the trick.

Are you using a 6-point socket.

what luck you have.. The only thing I can think of is to remove the the upper intake plennum so you can get a better look at the stud. Then try to remove the stud with vise grip pliers.
