valve cover leak

my '02 xlt is leaking oil from the valve covers. the leak is minimal, not enough to produce oil on the driveway. it's getting repaired shortly, and obviousely all it needs is new valve cover gaskets. i was wondering if any of you have encountered this problem. i've never seen any vehicle with only 55k leaking oil from the valve covers. thanks in advance!

My 2002 explorer is leaking oil from the valve covers as well @ 56,000 miles. I'm fixing to change the gaskets real soon here.

mine just started at 115 K miles on it just on the drivers side, Im thinking about trying to did it myself but it looks like you would almost have to remove the intake to get to the drivers side,IF anyone knows it would really help out thanks

i've been through a few vehicles, they ALL leak at sometime, mostly over 100k though.
I think it depends on maintenance and fresh oil, no overheating,
You can try and tighten down what you can reach but don't over do it.
