Valve covers

I bought a used '97 XLT SOHC and I like to get and keep things clean. My question is what can be used on the Valve covers to get that weatherbeaten (corroded) look off of them. They are aluminum, yes? naval Jelley? Wire Brush? Thanks...

Use rubbing compoud from like Mothers or some brand like that. There's a whole bunch down at your local parts store, look for the ones used for aluminum.
