For any of you guys out there that were planning to or are ready to modify your engines Vanir Tech will no longer be offering Ford V6 Parts. here is the responce i got from them:

Hi agian i was wondering what you guys use to upgrade the ignition system
with. im having a miss at 2200 RPM's and at idle. i was thinking it might be
the coil pack cause ive changed just about everything else. im planning on
doing a pretty custom motor swap in the next year or so.

Any info of the ignition system would be of great help.

PS i was wondering what blowers you guys use or suggest useing to make
around 650-800 HP on the 4.0 with out NOS.
I want to make loads of power with some reliability. any info on this would
be much appreciated. agian thanks Mark

Unfortunately, we have decided to completely refocus our business interests and as a result, we will no longer be offering components for the Ford V-6 engines (2.6, 2.8, 2.9 & 4.0L). I apologize for any inconvenience.

So i guess this means that if you want anything form them you better get it while supplies last. I was planning on tricking out the 4.0 but now hearing this I will defenetly be going with the 5.0 302 swap.

this was just for any who thought of getting parts from them. good luck and happy hunting. Rippin

PS the web site to check out the parts is in the Responce. later

Unfortunatley, I seriously doubt that even with internal upgrading the 4.0 will not make close to that amount of power even if you were using a 200 shot of NOS, 800hp is even more than a member on here has (Troll) in his Explorer with a built 347 and nos. Most Vipers with twin-turbos don't make 800hp.

A friend of my mom has a modified Ruf Porsche Turbo and it puts out close to 700rwhp, and it basically has a race tuned engine (but street legal, hehe:cool: ).

If you are looking at that power in an Explorer, you might as well go the route that others are doing, such as dropping in a supercharged 347 along with other mods.

so, if Vanir is out of the loop, then no one makes 4.0 modified rotating assemblies, correct? man, thats gotta suck. someone should show this thread to Alec, i think he was gonna do internals here pretty soon.....

:(

I'll still do a cam, pushrods, and new lifters and valvesprings when the time comes. The cam and pushrods should still be available, and I should be able to find good stock replacement parts for the other stuff. I'll just have to shop around more.

Since other people made all the stuff for Vanir, I should still be ok.

You can make that much power you just have to spend lots of money and be really crazy.

i was planning on doing this cause it would have been something that most peeps wouldnt do. it would be unique in its own way. and yes it would have been a long shot but i was shooting somewere in that range.

the plan was to have every internal custom made from JE pistons, Etc Etc. the bower was going to be either a works 140 or a Whipple with a custom intercooler from the Lightning trucks.

the plan was to use NOS to reach those numbers if it was needed. it would of been very costly and way to much money for what it would of resulted in so im glad that this in turn happened.

to tell the truth i was already planning on doing a 347 supercharged with NOS if needed. planning to do that in the next year or so. anyway no big deal looking forward to getting the motor and tranny done so that i can save up to take the X to Avalanche to get some High mark Axles and a custom lift. DREAMS:rolleyes:   :D

big freakin loss...who cares anybody that takes two weeks to return a simple email isn't worth the time anyways.

All of the parts are avail

Sven didnt make any of the parts as far as I can tell, all he did was resell them. You can get the parts you want and or need that he used to sell. Crower, JE pistons, Comp Cams, Crane, Snith Bros were all suppliers. Most any speed or machine shop can order the parts for you if you cant get them direct.

Doug904 who posts on this board is working on a business to fill the void check him out.

Sven did know tons about the 4.0 and that was his sale, the parts were always secondary to his racing as I understand it.

Good Luck

I know where I'm getting my new stuff from! His prices look competitive, too.

Thanks Alec,

Yes, I've delt with Sven Pruett for many years now and he's is a very knowledgable person. His big deal was he didn't care to sell minor stuff to the public for fear of bad installation or just no mechanical knowledge. Its one thing to sell a high performance engine to a racer but to sell one to a street guy who knows almost nothing of mechanics and then after he has it installed he's sitting in your driveway with a blown transmission. He's still has the absolute best knowledge about a 4.0 and if you were able to get his book on the Ford V-6 then consider yourself a lucky person.

For my business, I'm not in it for a living. I still have my day job as a Ford Fleet mechanic, I just love working with the 4.0. I've owned mine since 93 and have tinkered with it ever since. I've had two different superchargers on it and just about every bolt-on available. I've delt with almost every company out there that sells 4.0 stuff and I have done alot of testing with mustang and other ford products to see what will work on a 4.0. I havn't totally come public with my site just yet because I'm still waiting on my domain name and server swap, it will be www.40performance.com. I do answer alot of questions threw my emails on there and hope to help out in anyway I can.

I'm looking for other 4.0 related sites to tell about my 4.0 site and look into advertising on. I have been in touch with Rick on this site and I am getting together some products to asist in paying for this.

Later,

Doug904.
