Ok in the summer when its real hot and I've been driving for awhile and I have like a half of tank of gas or less my ford has a habit of vapor locking, is there anyway I can fix that. Also will pushing the fuel pump off button help, and then turning it back on. I try to keep my gas tank full in the summer to help prevent the problem.

vapor occurs when the fuel line gets too hot and the liquid gas is turned into a gas state. creating a blockage in the fuel line. Simlpe fix would be to find where the fuel line is too close to heat source and shield it.

I had an old Rambler that would vapor lock in the most dangerous of places, I started carrying oranges! splitting the orange and placing it over the vapor lock would clear the line. Very old mechanics trick!
