I have an '03 explorer w/ the 4.0. The dash vent, left of the steering wheel seems to have the same amount of air coming out as the other vents, but it is several degrees (10 degrees?) warmer. Is this normal or should is there something wrong/weird with the system. Thanks

I've got the same problem on my 2003 Explorer. It also has the 4.0. Any help from the forum is appreciated.

It's most likely a conduction problem. If this is the furthest vent from the coil than it would be warmer. If the duct is not insulated then the problem is compounded. Just a law of physics. Heat always wants to go to a cooler place. By the time the air gets to the furthest vent it has picked up more of the conductive heat that has transfered through the duct walls. That's it in a ductshell, I mean nutshell. And it's worse on a real hot humid day.
