Vibration at certain Speeds

I have a 04 sport trac with about 85k miles on it and it was been in the shop many of times for this problem and they always seem to say they did something but its always there...Im getting a vibration/rumble at certain speeds around 50-55 65-70 80 & up...Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or any ideas...They have replaced the drive shaft twice balanced and road forced the tires...and just today balanced the drive shaft even tho they put it in not even a year ago...Need Help PlZ...

I've got the same thing with mine....have no idea what it is. Mine seems to do it more in overdrive though.

my 01 does the same as well and i had a 03 mountaineer that done it also. my st is 4x4 and the mounty was 2wd

yea mine is a 4x4 also...its driving me nuts even tho i dont go over 80 unless im going to pass someone...just found out today that they have replaced the bearings in the rear and something else and that was next on the list so now i dunno where to go with this problem...they always refuse to say its the tires but it wasnt really noticable until i got new ones..so might just have to wait until its time for new ones..

wheel bearing cost about $190 plus labor. had same issue. suprised no one has responded. it's a wheel bearing assemply. may want to buy the higher quality because they come in 3 prices. low to high quality.

yup def the wheel bearings unless your alignment is really off.

front or rear bearings? Our 2003 2WD does the same thing. Driving along it will start to shake then quit then start again. It's not in the steering wheel, but we feel it in the floor, seats, etc??????????????

Try removing the front drive shaft and leave it off. I had the same problem and it did not go away until I just removed the front drive shaft. Yeah it sucks i don't have 4wd anymore but i rarely used it anyways and now its smooth at 80 on the highway.

When mine starts to Vibe....I let off the gas and it goes away....it seems to shift and that's when the noise/vibe goes away.
